Update 12 December 2024.

EV ChargerThe Paddington Society has provided a submission to the Council with outline comments regarding the third round of EV chargers and the three newly proposed sites for Paddington. Many consider the site opposite 12 Ormond Street site unsuitable, and the Society suggests adding it to those in review.

The submission also revisits the locations for the second round of Paddington sites, the subject of our 3 September submission. Five of these have now been confirmed as suitable, and two are now under review.

City of Sydney On-street Electric Vehicle Charger Trial

You can also read about the City of Sydney’s on-street electric vehicle charger trial. The City of Sydney is working with Ausgrid on a trial of on-street electric vehicle charging to help better understand on-street electric vehicle charging at suitable locations in the area and to support EV owners who do not have access to charging at home.

This trial includes some locations in Paddington.

Update 3 September 2024.

Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick councils are seeking feedback on proposed locations for new electric vehicle (EV) chargers to be installed across the three Local Government Areas (LGAs). New EV chargers are expected to be installed by June 2025.

Feedback from all three councils working together on this project (Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick councils) will be gathered on Waverley Council’s website. The three councils adopted the Eastern Suburbs Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy 2023 and as part of that strategy they identified that 250 public EV chargers were needed in the Eastern Suburbs by the end of 2025.

Provide feedback on the proposed locations for EV chargers and help meet the increasing demand in our local area.
