DESCRIPTION:On behalf of The Paddington Society Inc (“the Society”)\, we would like to invite you to our Special General Meeting followed by our Annual General Meeting 2026. \nSee the formal notice for each of the meetings below. \nThe venue has capacity limits\, so please RSVP (Get Tickets below). \nIt’s a great opportunity to meet fellow members and others who are passionate about Paddington. \nIn addition to formalities\, we will report during the AGM on what we have done in the past year to protect Paddington’s heritage and amenity. We will also outline plans to address current and emerging concerns. As usual\, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues. \nThe Society has been working for over 60 years to preserve the heritage and amenity of Paddington and we appreciate your ongoing participation and support. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow members and others who are passionate about Paddington. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Paddo RSL. \nThose attending the Paddo RSL will be required to comply with the rules of both the Society and the Club. Subject to this\, attendees are welcome to gather at the Club’s downstairs bar to purchase a drink or at the bistro for a meal. \n\nNOTICE OF MEETINGS\nNOTICE is hereby given of \n\na SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of The Paddington Society Incorporated (“the Society”)\, immediately followed by\nthe ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of The Paddington Society Incorporated (“the Society”)\n\nWhen: Monday 16 November 2026\, from 6:00pm\nWhere: Upstairs at Paddo RSL\, 220-232 Oxford Street\, Paddington NSW 2021 \n\nSPECIAL GENERAL MEETING AGENDA\nThis meeting is convened to consider and vote on the following special resolutions: \n\nTo repeal The Paddington Society Inc Constitution and Objects\, both dated 18th November 2021\, and to adopt the proposed new Constitution which includes the Objects.\nTo authorise the public officer to submit an application to NSW Fair Trading for registration of the proposed new Constitution.\n\nDownload the new Constitution documents: \n\nProposed new Constitution\nA summary of the changes to the Constitution\nAn explanatory memorandum\n\nDownload the current Constitution and Objects document. \nSpecial General Meeting Notes: \n\nOnly current Members will be entitled to vote. Attendees who are not currently Members and would like to vote will need to become a Member prior to the meeting.\nProxy voting is not permitted at general meetings of the Society.\nMembers who cannot access the links in this email can contact the Secretary to request a copy via email or physical mail.\n\n\nANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AGENDA\n\nApologies.\nTo confirm the Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on 17 November 2025.\nTo receive the President’s Report of the Society’s activities since the last AGM.\nTo receive the Treasurer’s Report and approve the Financial Statements\, both for the Financial Year ended 30 June 2026.\nTo move a vote of thanks to the Auditor.\nTo appoint an Auditor / Auditors for the 2026/27 Financial Year.\nTo elect Office Bearers and Committee Members.\nAny other business.\nCurrent members can download copies of the 2025 AGM Minutes and the 2025 Accounts. If not a current member\, you can join the Society before downloading the documents.\n\nAGM Notes: \n\nOnly current Members will be entitled to vote. Attendees who are not currently Members and would like to vote will need to become a Member prior to the meeting.\nProxy voting is not permitted at general meetings of the Society.\nIf you wish to nominate yourself or someone else to join the Committee\, please email the Secretary\, and we will provide a nomination form. Nominations must be received no later than 6pm Monday\, 09 November 2026. The opportunity to join the Committee is open to Society members. If not a current member\, you can join the Society.\nNew Committee positions are to be taken up immediately following the Annual General Meeting of the Society and to run until the closure of the next Annual General Meeting unless otherwise determined in accordance with the Society’s Constitution.\nMembers who cannot access the links in this email can contact the Secretary to request a copy via email or physical mail.
