DESCRIPTION:Our highly anticipated Annual Dinner is always lots of fun and a great opportunity to meet your community. \nEnjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival\, a fabulous dinner and a compelling special guest presentation as we celebrate our unique community and recent achievements. \nJoin in the raffle for your chance to take home one of the selection of coveted prizes! \nSpecial Guest Speaker\nHarriet Price coordinating her wardrobe with Paddington terraces! \nCouncillor Harriet Price\, Woollahra Municipal Council\nCr Harriet Price has represented Paddington on Woollahra Municipal Council for the past nine years. A local resident of 21 years\, her connection to the area began over 50 years ago as a student at Union Street’s Peter Pan Pre School. \nHarriet is a fierce community advocate and has successfully led high-profile grassroots campaigns\, including to save the Four in Hand and Village Inn pubs. Harriet has also championed action against over-development\, including the recent SSD at 160 Oxford Street. \nShe was named the 2019 Sydney Electorate Woman of the Year for her leadership of the Glenmore Road Public School P&C\, community advocacy and as a role model for women in public office. \nHarriet holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of NSW\, a Master of International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts from Sydney University. She was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1997. \nHer love for Paddington’s local cafes\, restaurants and fashion retailers are beautifully captured on her @PriceforPaddington Instagram. Many locals suspect that\, despite her many professional achievements\, her true talents lie in the rigorous town planning required to coordinate her daily wardrobe with the colourful doors of Paddington’s iconic terrace houses!. \nRaffle Prizes\nGet your raffle tickets on the night to enter the draw for a selection of prizes! DESCRIPTION:On behalf of The Paddington Society Inc (“the Society”)\, we would like to invite you to our Special General Meeting followed by our Annual General Meeting 2026. \nSee the formal notice for each of the meetings below. \nFor the purposes of ensuring sufficient seating\, please RSVP below. \nIt’s a great opportunity to meet fellow members and others who are passionate about Paddington. \nIn addition to formalities\, we will report during the AGM on what we have done in the past year to protect Paddington’s heritage and amenity. We will also outline plans to address current and emerging concerns. As usual\, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues. \nThe Society has been working for over 60 years to preserve the heritage and amenity of Paddington and we appreciate your ongoing participation and support. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow members and others who are passionate about Paddington. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Paddo RSL. \nThose attending the Paddo RSL will be required to comply with the rules of both the Society and the Club. Subject to this\, attendees are welcome to gather at the Club’s downstairs bar to purchase a drink or at the bistro for a meal. \n\nNOTICE OF MEETINGS\nNOTICE is hereby given of \n\na SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of The Paddington Society Incorporated (“the Society”)\, immediately followed by\nthe ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of The Paddington Society Incorporated (“the Society”)\n\nWhen: Monday 16 November 2026\, from 6:00pm\nWhere: Upstairs at Paddo RSL\, 220-232 Oxford Street\, Paddington NSW 2021 \n\nSPECIAL GENERAL MEETING AGENDA\nThis meeting is convened to consider and vote on the following special resolutions: \n\nTo repeal The Paddington Society Inc Constitution and Objects\, both dated 18th November 2021\, and to adopt the proposed new Constitution which includes the Objects.\nTo authorise the public officer to submit an application to NSW Fair Trading for registration of the proposed new Constitution.\n\nCurrent members can download copies of the Proposed new Constitution\, a summary of the changes to the Constitution\, and an explanatory memorandum. If not a current member\, you can join the Society before downloading the documents. \nDownload the current Constitution and Objects document. \nSpecial General Meeting Notes: \n\nOnly current Members will be entitled to vote. Attendees who are not currently Members and would like to vote will need to become a Member prior to the meeting.\nProxy voting is not permitted at general meetings of the Society.\nMembers who cannot access the links in this email can contact the Secretary to request a copy via email or physical mail.\n\n\nANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AGENDA\n\nApologies.\nTo confirm the Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on 17 November 2025.\nTo receive the President’s Report of the Society’s activities since the last AGM.\nTo receive the Treasurer’s Report and approve the Financial Statements\, both for the Financial Year ended 30 June 2026.\nTo move a vote of thanks to the Auditor.\nTo appoint an Auditor / Auditors for the 2026/27 Financial Year.\nTo elect Office Bearers and Committee Members.\nAny other business.\n\nCurrent members can download copies of the 2025 AGM Minutes and the 2025 Accounts. If not a current member\, you can join the Society before downloading the documents. \nAGM Notes: \n\nOnly current Members will be entitled to vote.
